Hi Westgate Families and Community!
My name is Ms. Lubang, and I am thrilled to be stepping into my new role as the Assistant Principal for grades K–4 at Westgate Community School! For the past three years, I’ve had the joy of teaching kindergarten here at Westgate, and I’m so excited to continue growing within this incredible community in a new position. I look forward to supporting our students, staff, and families while helping to foster a joyful, inclusive, and playful learning environment across our K-4 pods.
My journey in education began at the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned a degree in elementary education with a minor in French. After graduating, I worked abroad as an English teaching assistant in both France and Japan. When I returned to Colorado, I taught fourth grade for three years and completed my Master of Arts in Teaching through Relay Graduate School of Education. After that, I found my way to Westgate and made the move to kindergarten where I truly fell in love with early childhood education and our amazing school community.
When I’m not at school, you can find me playing board games with my husband, lounging with my cat, or enjoying the outdoors. A few of my favorite things: the color yellow, Harry Potter, dark chocolate, Goldfish crackers, and caramel macchiatos!
I’m honored to begin this next chapter as K–4 Assistant Principal and can’t wait for all that this school year has in store. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
Warmly,
Ms. Lubang
