Students will be working on their Khan Academy assignments. Students MUST write the problem and their work in their notebook in order to get a 3 on the Khan Academy assignments. I will be pulling groups of students throughout the week to work on gap skills (Skills that they seem to be missing and need in order to move to the next unit).

We are starting the week by getting each student set up on Khan Academy. Students will be in one of three groups, 1. subtraction with regrouping; 2. multi numbered subtraction; 3. multiplication. I will pull groups while students are working on Khan Academy so that I can give individual mentoring to each group. 

Students will take a pre-test this week regarding our next unit so that I can plan over break. We will also have a Math Workshop day.

We will begin our new unit: Calculating Decimals. This week, we will focus on adding and subtracting decimal numbers. 

On Wednesday, students will take a post-test on the decimal concepts they have learned thus far. A jeopardy game will be posted to assist in studying for this test. We will begin the next unit on multiplying and dividing on Thursday. 

There is no school on Monday. Students will continue their investigation into decimal place values. Then, we will move onto rounding decimal numbers. 

Students will be working on place value, finding patterns between place value whole numbers and place value decimal numbers. Students will also be able to write these numbers in word form, number form, and standard form.
