Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be part of the 3-4 team again this year. I love Westgate because students have the flexibility to learn in whatever way is most meaningful for them—I can’t wait to work with you to support your child this year.
I was incredibly lucky in my own education to get to explore what I was curious about, and I believe in creating the opportunity for students to do that every day. I went to Quest University in Canada in 2015, where I got to study subjects in depth and write my thesis about community trauma focused on anthropology and neuroscience. I had worked with children a lot before college and I really missed that work, so I came back to Colorado and got a Masters in Education. This will be my fourth year teaching third/fourth grade!
In my free time, I love to read, travel and spend time with my family. You can often find us cooking together or going for long walks. I have a very sweet border collie named Jem, a very feisty cat named Scout, and my husband is an artist and musician so we spend a lot of time at concerts! I am a coffee lover and I also love popcorn and peanut butter cups.
