Week of January 21, 2019- Science

This week, students will begin the Energy Unit. Pre-assessments were given last week and will be going home this week in Friday folders. The post-test will be the same as the pre-test (minus the grammatical errors), so I highly suggest you hold on to it as a study guide. This week, students will learn about kinetic and potential energy, forms of energy, and conservation of energy. The energy worksheet will be the graded assignment for this week.

Week of January 14, 2019- Science

This week will be spent reviewing class rules and routines and finishing the Earth's Changes Unit. We will be focusing on how earthquakes relate to plate tectonics by plotting different historical earthquakes on a world map. Students will also take a pre-assessment regarding forms of energy; this will not be put into the gradebook and is just to assess students' prior knowledge. I will be absent on Thursday, please remind your child to be respectful to guest teachers.

How A Snickers Bar is Made

We have been discussing the sedimentation process of rocks. After watching this video today, we discussed how a "Snickers Rock" doesn't really follow the Principle of Superposition. Can your child tell you why not?
