Staff Profile

In my professional life, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Purdue University as well as an endorsement in Science and a Master of Education from Olivet Nazarene University along with earning several certifications in Project Lead the Way. I have been teaching seventh and eighth grade students Science and STEM for the last 26 years. My two adult children, CJ and Mandy, have lived in Denver for the last eight years, and my husband, Tim, and I were missing our family time with them and decided to make the move. My husband, also a middle school educator for 30 years, retired at the end of last year and is now working at a golf course to occupy his time and loves every minute of it. We enjoy spending time with our family, taking our two rescue dogs, Nala and Khali, on hikes and exploring all that Denver has to offer.

Science Update

Westgate Families,

Studnets are working through the Electric and Magnetic Force Unit. They have been engaged in lab activities that help them explore and develop an understanding of magnetism and electricity.

Our final unit of the year will be Wave Transfer.

As we near the end of the school year, please remind students of classroom expectations and continuing to put forth effort toward a strong finish. Thank you for your support throughout the year.
