Tuesday

“Comparing Maps Tuesday”: 

  1. Choose a place to live in the United states besides Colorado, based on its location. 
  2. Make sure to answer the questions for why you chose it by clicking on the assignment worksheet attached to the assignment: Make sure to research the answer if you don’t know it!
    1. Why did you choose this state? 
    2. Where is it located in the United states?
    3. How will its location affect how you live when there? 
    4. What else did you learn about this location?

Labeling Places Thursday

  1. Choose two cities in the United States besides Thornton and New York
  2. Research what it is like there, what jobs are most common, what people do when they are there for fun, etc. for each city
  3. Look at the united states map and take notes on how each cities location may change how the people that live in that city live their life. 
  4. Write a reflection answering how each cities location may change how people that live in that city live their life.

Labeling Places Wednesday

  • Pick two states in the United States and look up a map of both. Make sure to keep the type of map the same (Ex: both a physical map or a population map, etc.) 
  • Compare and contrast the two states based on the data taken from the maps. Write a reflection using two paragraphs, make sure to include specific data from the maps when talking about them.

Look at the two maps and compare/contrast the data shown. What do you notice? Why do you think that is the case? Make sure to complete in complete sentences, restate the question, and use specific evidence from the maps when talking about it.

Labeling Places Monday

Create a map of your neighborhood and label at least 5 different places there. Then, write a reflection on why it is important to label your map when trying to help someone get to your house. Note: this will not be shared with anyone except your teacher.
