Monday –No School Memorial Day 

Tuesday – Zoom Class 10:20 

Students will be reviewing the 4th grade Math year in review activity done last week.  They can create a summer study book for items to know going into fifth grade 

Wednesday - Zoom Class at 10:45  

Students will be involved in Move-up/Move-down meetings with next year’s 5th grade Teachers from 10:15 to 10:40.  Students will then finish-up the 4th grade Math Year in review.

Week of April 5th

MATH– CMAS Prep Week.  

This week we are going to take the time to familiarize the students with the CMAS MATH Assessment.  This year 4th graders are only taking the Math tests so you want to prepare them as best as possible by using released items and practice tests provided by the CDE and additional resources.  We will NOT be using the Engage NY curriculum this week.

CMAS Prep Students will be using a “CMAS scavenger hunt” in order to familiarize themselves with all the tools that the test will provide for them.  Students will know how to navigate the test and how to access the online tools, i.e., calculator, ruler, protractor and others that they may need to answer the questions on the assessment.  For this assessment the only tools the students may use are provided by the test itself except for a pencil and scratch paper so it will be very important for them to know where to find those tools in order to be more successful on this assessment.

CMAS Prep Today students will complete a practice session from CMAS.  We will set the classroom up as if we were actually taking the CMAS, by completing one section of the online practice test.   We will try to make it as close as possible to actual testing conditions so that there are no surprises during the actual test.

MATH– Engage NY/4th grade Module 5 Lessons 17,18,19,20.  

These worksheets can be found in the Math Packet if you were able to get them from the school. 

Module 5 Lesson 17 Objective: Use visual models to add and subtract two fractions with the same units, including subtracting from one whole. 

Module 5 Lesson 18 Objective: Add and subtract more than two fractions. 

Module 5 Lesson 19 Objective: Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions. 

Module 5 Lesson 20 Objective: Use visual models to add two fractions with related units using the denominators 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12.  

Monday – Online Students should join the Zoom Class by 10:20 a.m.
