Week of September 28th

MATH– Engage NY/4th grade Module 1 Lessons 9 & 10

Objective:  Use place value understanding to round multi-digit numbers to any place value.

Monday – ZOOM Meeting 11:00-11:30  

Module 1 Lesson 9: Students will be working on the Class Work sheet for Module 1 Lesson 9. This is found in the “Class Work” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  We will discuss and practice the rules of rounding multidigit numbers to any place value. The Presentation as well as the Zoom meeting recording will be posted for review if needed.

Tuesday – Worksheets/Exit ticket

Students will complete the Exit Slip for Module 1 Lesson 9. This is found in the “Exit Slip” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  

Wednesday - ZOOM Meeting 11:00-11:30

Module 1 Lesson 10: Students will be working on the Class Work for Module 1 Lesson 10. Week of September 21st

Monday  Live lesson at 11:00am

Module 1 Lesson 7:  We will discuss and practice the rules of rounding in order to estimate values and do mental math. The Presentation as well as the Zoom meeting recording will be posted for review if needed. Students will work Class Work for Module 1, Lesson 7. This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams. 

Tuesday  Worksheets/Exit ticket  

Students should finish any Lesson 7 classwork individual Teams notebook. Students also need to complete the Exit Ticket for Module 1, Lesson 7. This is found in the “Exit Slips” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  

Wednesday - Live lesson at 11:00am

Module 1 Lesson 8  Students will be working on the worksheets for Module 1 Lesson 8. This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  We will discuss and practice the rules of rounding at greater place values above 1,000 in order to estimate values and do mental math. There are Kahn Academy Videos posted on the Math Teams page to assist for this lesson and the Presentation as well as the Zoom meeting recording will be posted for review if needed.  

Thursday - Exit Slip

Students also need to complete the Exit Slip for Module 1, Lesson 8. This is found in the “Exit Slip” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  

Friday - (graded assignment) Lesson 7 & 8 Quiz  

Students should finish any Lesson 7 or 8 classwork and exit tickets prior to taking the Math quiz.  The quiz can be found in the Quizzes tab of their individual Teams notebook.  It is called "Module 1, Lessons 7 & 8 Quiz".

Week of September 14th

Week 4 – Engage NY/4th grade Module 1 Lessons 4, 5 and 6 

Parents – Any document that students are expected to work on can now also be found as printable PDF in Teams.  To access these, please go to the Math Teams page and click PDFs on the left-hand side.  Find the corresponding folder for the week.  I have named the files to match what they say for kids in the description below.  If you plan on printing files for your child(ren), please contact me so we can discuss how those files can be submitted.   

Objective: Read and write multi-digit numbers using base ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. 

Objective: Compare numbers based on meanings of the digits using >, <, or = to record the comparison. 

Objective: Find 1, 10, and 100 thousand more and less than a given number.

Students should complete the Module 1, Lesson 5 Exit Slip in Teams.  To access this, go to Class Notebook, then click on the purple arrow [>].  Click on your name.  Click on “Exit Slips”.  Click on “Module 1, Lesson 5”. 

Wednesday – In-person Learning Day – No assignment 

Students will review the 2 exit slips from Monday & Tuesday.  Students will also be taught Module 1, Lesson 6 in class.   

Thursday – Class Work  

Students should complete the Module 1, Lesson 6 Class Work in Teams.  To access this, go to Class Notebook, then click on the purple arrow [>].  Click on your name.  Click on "Class Work”.  Click on “Module 1, Lesson 6”. 

Friday – Exit Slip (graded assignment)

Week of September 8th

Week 3 Math  Engage NY/4th grade Module 1, Lesson 3 

*Please note that these assignments have not yet been ‘pushed’ to students on OneNote.  They will be pushed as needed so they are easier to find each day.  Students will receive explicit instruction on how to access these documents and all of these lessons will be recorded should any students have trouble finding them once our Zoom meetings end* 

Objectives:  Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison.  Recognize a digit represents 10 times the value of what it represents in the place to its right. 

Monday  No School - Labor Day - Students are not expected to work.

Tuesday   Students will complete the extra practice worksheets for Module 1 Lessons 1 & 2.  These are practice sheets from the concepts learn last week since we will not learn new information on Tuesday. This is found in the “Extra Practice” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams. 

Wednesday - Direct instruction via Zoom, 11:00-11:30 a.m. 

Worksheets - We will continue using place value expanded form to solve multiplication problems.  Students will be working on the worksheets for Module 1, Lesson 3. This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  Students will be shown exactly how to get there during instruction.

Week 1 Let’s Review!

Objective- Students will review previously taught math skills; Number Sense, Place Value, Addition Subtraction, Division, and Multiplication and learn to navigate the coursework using Teams.

Worksheet - students will be working on the worksheet “Math review Part 1”. This is found in the “Classwork tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  Students will be shown exactly how to get there during instruction.  We will review the multiplication table and how is can be used as a tool for problem solving. We will complete this worksheet together so that students learn to submit work via Teams. 

Tuesday Worksheet - Students complete the worksheet Place Value Practice part 1 and 2. This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  There will be a few “Extra Practice” worksheets in the Extra Practice tab for students who want to challenge themselves.   

Wednesday Direct instruction via Zoom, 11:00-11:30 a.m.

Worksheet  students will be working on “Place Value and Expanded Form.  Students will then complete the “Place Value to Thousands” worksheet on their own.  This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams.  We will also show students how to access the content for Thursday & Friday during this meeting.   

Thursday - Worksheets Students complete the worksheets entitled “Place Value Scramble” & “Place Value Challenge” This is found in the “Classwork” tab under their name tab in the Class Notebook in Teams. Students should review the weeks work and prepare to take the assessment on Friday. 

Friday- Quiz Students will take the “Number Sense Quiz.”  This is found in the Quizzes tab under their name in the Class Notebook.
