Week April 13-16, 2020

Here are the updates for the week! A reminder: I sent out assignments and lessons to students through email, and they can be accessed here on the class page as well. Please email me completed assignments.

This Week: We will learn to convert between cartesian and polar coordinates, as well as the process for graphing using polar coordinates.

Due Friday, April 17th by Midnight:
1) Graphing Polar Coordinates sheet.
2) Converting Polar and Cartesian Coordinates sheet

Last Week: We learned to solve triangles using the reciprocal trig identities (csc, sec, cot), as well as how to solve trig problems using radians.

Due from last week: Trig Radians worksheet, Csc/Sec/Cot worksheet

HS Weekly Schedule

This is the schedule high school will be using for lessons, advocacies, and office hours.

Math lessons will be emailed early Monday. Answers need to be emailed to Mr. Cuevas by midnight on Friday weekly. The normal late-work policies apply.

Wednesday, March 18: SAT No Calc review part 1

Please use this document and part 2 (uploaded separately) to go over your answers from yesterday. If you have any remaining questions, please send me an email.

Due to trouble scanning the documents, things are out of order. This document contains #1-3, 8-10, 14-15, and 19-20. Part 2 will contain the rest.

Plan Monday 03/16 - 03/18

Monday, March 16
Spend one hour working on any area between page 40 and 67 (the math area).
Record your answers. Email a picture of your answers to Cuevas.

Tuesday, March 17
Use pages 29-49 to check your answers from yesterday. Email Cuevas with questions you still have.

Wednesday, March 18
Based on input from Tuesday, watch for an email from Cuevas containing a powerpoint or scanned documents going over the most difficult problems. Take an hour to go through this work and compare it to your own.

Week 03/02 - 03/06

Last Week: Cross-Curriculum: We learned to convert units using stoichiometry, a math-based process.

This Week: We will begin learning about the unit circle and the three basic trigonometric functions: sine, cosine, and tangent. PreCalc will review trig, then learn a new way to factor quadratic functions.

Due by the end of the week: None

Week 02/10 - 02/14

Last Week: Students continued their work with complex numbers and complex conjugates (both include imaginary numbers). Juniors began using proportions to solve algebraic problems.

This Week: Students will use math to determine the richest person in the world. They will also use proportions to solve algebraic problems, both with numbers and words.

Due by the end of the week: None
