This week students will begin “Beat It” by Michael Jackson. 

They will choose the instrument they wish to play on this song. 

We will focus on elements such as tempo, balance, and content. 

 

 

This week students will suggest songs to play this quarter and listen to them in order to vote by the end of the week.

 

They are also going to be choosing which instrument(s) they want to learn.

This week, students will be playing through their concert (which is next week!!). 

 

They will work on stage presence, song announcements, and polishing their performances.

Students will be continuing work on Sweet Caroline and Never Gonna Give You Up. The main focus this week is:

 

Sweet Caroline: tempo and balance, dynamics, memorizing.

 

Never Gonna...

Intro and chord switching in rhythm. 

This week, students will be finishing up Sweet Caroline and moving on the Never Gonna Give You Up.

 

The new song comes with new chords and new melodies to learn and will require a capo for guitar players.

 

This week students will be completing Sweet Caroline.  They will be able to play from beginning to end using correct dynamics, rhythms, chords, and balance.

 

The main focus this week is listening across the band and not falling apart.

Students will continue work on Sweet Caroline, practicing their own parts and putting them together.  

 

They will begin work on Never Gonna Give You Up this week.

This week students vote on their songs and will begin rehearsing them.
