Week of April 8, 2019- Science
This week, students will attend science class every day as the testing schedule does not impact science and social studies times.
PROBLEM and RESEARCH SLIDES: If your child makes changes to these slides after Monday, 4/8, they need to email me to notify me, otherwise, they will not be regraded.
HYPOTHESIS and MATERIALS SLIDES due on TUESDAY, 4/9: On Monday, students will be introduced to the proper way to write a hypothesis. Students will have class and individual practice time following this lesson. At the end of class on Tuesday, students' hypothesis and materials slides will be due.
PROCEDURE SLIDES due on FRIDAY, 4/12: On Wednesday, students will complete a group task that will focus on the need for precision and details in their procedure slide(s). They will have Thursday and Friday to work on the procedure slides for their experiment and the slides will be due at the end of class on Friday.
MATERIALS for the experiment are due on Monday, 4/15: Students will have time to perform their experiments next week. If possible, students need to complete their experiments at school. If this is not possible due to time constraints or materials (for example, dry ice can not come to school!, please contact me to communicate your child's need to complete the experiment from home. Videos and pictures of the experiment is highly encouraged!
Science Fair will be on Friday, 5/10: Parents and families are invited! Please note: Due to space, the science fair time has changed. Science A, the science class that occurs before specials time, will be held from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.. Science B, the science class that occurs after specials time, will be held from 2:45 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.
