Week of April 15, 2019

Students are supposed to bring in their science materials to class on Monday. On Monday, students will partner up with peers to review their procedure slides and make sure these are detailed, step by step instructions. Once the past due slides have been completed and turned in, students may begin their science experiment. Students need to have their experiments and data slides complete by next Wednesday, April 24.

Week of April 8, 2019- Science

This week, students will attend science class every day as the testing schedule does not impact science and social studies times.
PROBLEM and RESEARCH SLIDES: If your child makes changes to these slides after Monday, 4/8, they need to email me to notify me, otherwise, they will not be regraded.
HYPOTHESIS and MATERIALS SLIDES due on TUESDAY, 4/9: On Monday, students will be introduced to the proper way to write a hypothesis. Students will have class and individual practice time following this lesson. At the end of class on Tuesday, students' hypothesis and materials slides will be due.

MATERIALS for the experiment are due on Monday, 4/15: Students will have time to perform their experiments next week. If possible, students need to complete their experiments at school. If this is not possible due to time constraints or materials (for example, dry ice can not come to school!, please contact me to communicate your child's need to complete the experiment from home. Videos and pictures of the experiment is highly encouraged!
Science Fair will be on Friday, 5/10: Parents and families are invited! Please note: Due to space, the science fair time has changed. Science B, the science class that occurs after specials time, will be held from 2:45 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.

Week of March 18, 2019- Science

Students will have science one time this week, during which, they will have time to work on their research and question slide. If students do not complete the assigned tasks before spring break, I will notify you so that they can complete the work during their break.
Reminder: Conferences are Thursday and Friday which means there is no school on Thursday or Friday. Spring Break is next week. Enjoy!

Week of March 11, 2019- Science

This week, students will be learning more about the scientific process. During this time, they will be working on their science fair project question. They must get their question approved by me on or before March 13 (Wednesday). Once approved by me, they need to get your approval and signature by Friday, March 15.

Students will also be learning about how to find and take notes when researching. Their research and sources are due by Tuesday, March 19. Please see the projected assignment due dates, science fair letter, and science fair rubric.
