1st and 2nd Music Q4

Welcome back!

This rotation, students will continue learning musical concepts such as:

- Keeping a steady beat
- Moving to a song
- Reading and performing rhythms
- Marimba technique
- Holding marimba mallets correctly
- Creating their own rhythms
- Rehearsing and performing a song on the marimba in a group (whole class)

They will be introduced to Rhythm Basketball this rotation. This "game" teaches students how to sightread more complex rhythms and perform them at a steady tempo. They will be on one of two teams and each time they get the rhythm correct, they get a point and the chance to score more points by tossing a ball into a basket.

We will continue daily singing, dancing, and moving to music.

Students will work on singing and moving to music, matching different dance moves and practicing keeping a beat. They will also review rhythms and how to apply them to instruments.
