I am attaching a permission slip for our class to watch the movie Apollo 13.  Apollo 13 was a U.S. spaceflight that suffered an explosion and power failure enroute to the Moon. The mission was launched on April 11, 1970, with three astronauts: Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise. The crew had to abort the moon landing and use the lunar module as a lifeboat to return to Earth. They used the moon’s gravity to slingshot back to Earth, becoming the farthest humans have ever been in space.
