Class of 2024 Service Trips

Habitat for Humanity in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Students left Westgate on Sunday, May 14 and headed for Santa Fe.  On their first day in the city, they had some time for sightseeing before the service work began.

Pascual D. Hernandez, Habitat for Humanity in Santa Fe's Director of Volunteer and Family Services, told us, "The students will be working on possibly three different houses, all are in various stages of construction.  Two are located in the Plaza Bonita neighborhood, one will be close to finished once the group arrives, this is our adobe huse, it's the Hacienda Build and sponsored by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association.  The second home shoudl have the walls up and will be more of a traditional framing build.  The third, we are waiting on permitting and hope to have the project going by the time the group arrives, it's currently a rehab and in 'slab stage'."
