September 5th-8th

Students will continue to use their knowledge of multiplication (repeat addition, fact families, arrays, etc) to create a dog/cat animal shelter for the town of Thornton!

Students will present their work at the end of the week.

August 28-August 31

This week we are learning more about multiplication. We are learning our last method, array models, and will learn tips and tricks on how to solve multiplication problems easier. They will also have their first test on Monday.

August 21-25

We are continuing to learn about multiplication this week. We will review the strategies we learned last week (loops and groups and tape diagrams) and learn some new ones (number line and repeat addition).

August 14-18

This week in math is all about testing our knowledge on our upcoming 3rd grade subjects, as well as multiplication! We will start with a pre-course test and MAPS.

Our first unit will be about learning different strategies to solve multiplication problems. As the students progress in their mulitiplication abilities, we will start having multiplication races where parents are invited to join!
