R.I.S.E. Values

Part of our Whole Child Education program is to teach and reinforce school-wide values that are core to Westgate.
These include:
  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Safe spaces
  • Empathy
 
We use the acronym R.I.S.E. within the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) framework.  
 
PBIS is a system in which students, staff, and the community create a set of school-wide behavioral expectations and core values. We teach those expectations in all of our various environments (classrooms, restrooms, pods, recess, etc.), and then we ACKNOWLEDGE and CELEBRATE when we see students doing those things! 
 
Each month, we take time to recognize the students that exemplify these core values.
