This week, students will continue Recorder Karate.

 

They are working on each "belt" song, adding concepts of rhythm, treble clef notes, and recorder technique.

 

As a class, we're on belt 4 this week "It's Raining".

This song teaches the concept of eighth notes and changing notes on that rhythm. It adds "E" to the 3 notes they've learned (B, A, and G).

 

Wednesday, students will begin learning how to write whole notes on the spaces using our new dry erase boards with music staffs on them. Each student will have their own board and marker, learning how to put a note on the 4 spaces of the treble clef and the 5 lines of the treble clef.

 

The notes they are memorizing are F, A, C, and E - spelling "face".
