Algebra: This week, we wrapped up factoring for now and began learning about the third type of parabolic functions: vertex form. We began learning how to change a function from standard form to vertex form, as well as the uses of the new form. After break, we will continue working with vertex form and begin examining how we can move parabolas if we change the equation.

 

Geometry: This week, we tackled a variety of real-world scenarios using our knowledge of circles when mixed with other shapes. After break, we will begin learning how to determine the equation for a circle when given a vertex and the equation for a line tangent to the circle.
