Welcome to Our Communication Policy

At Westgate Community School, we believe that effective communication between parents and our staff is crucial for fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Our communication policy is designed to ensure that all interactions are respectful, transparent, and timely, helping us work together to support the growth and development of our students.
 
In this section, you will find guidelines on how to reach out to teachers, administrators, and support staff, as well as information on the various channels we use to keep you informed about your child's progress and school events. We encourage open dialogue and value your feedback, as it helps us continually improve our services and support.

For Social-Emotional Communications

For School Operations or Policy Communications

Contact Procedures

  • Make contact via email.
  • Be specific.
  • State what you understand or know of the situation and ask clarifying questions.
  • Allow time for the contact to gather the necessary information to address your questions or concerns.
  • You can expect a response within 48 hours for teachers and team leads, or 72 hours from all others.
 
As your query moves through the process, please be sure to copy all previous contacts on the continued correspondence. 
 

Communication Channels for Westgate

Emails: be sure your email address is up to date in the Infinite Campus system to receive emails from Westgate. If your email address is correct and you are not receiving emails, please contact: [email protected].
You may receive emails from:
  • Teachers/Admin: emails on classroom progress, testing, conferences, events, and about your student
  • Westgate Community School: school wide information including, newsletters, events, Westgate Board of Directors information, emergencies, school closures, late starts, and other updates.
  • Adams 12 School District: district wide information, district school board activities
 
*Please note: if information from Adams 12 differs from Westgate, we will send a follow up email shortly after any Adams 12 announcement. 
 
Text Messages: We often send out text messages for reminders and emergencies. If you have opted into getting messages and have a cell number listed, you will receive our texts and may receive texts from Adams 12 as well. 
 
Westgate App: The Westgate app can be downloaded and provides key information on event dates and daily reminders. We also push out important news announcements on the app. We are continuously working to provide updates and new uses. We recommend downloading the app to stay up-to-date.
