February 1-5 Math

This week we will be reviewing multiplying/dividing decimals and exponents. On February 3rd we will take a test over the topic. Make sure to ask questions before the test so that you are ready to go! 
 
Monday: 
Complete the multiplication of decimals worksheet offered. Ask questions during class while we practice! Check your work when you finish.
 
Tuesday: 
Complete the division of decimals worksheet offered. Ask questions during class while we practice! Check your work when you finish.
 
Wednesday: 
Test day!
 
Thursday:
Check your test. Redo questions that need to be fixed and double check all of your answers. When you feel confident about it, turn it in.
 
Friday: 
Respond to the reflection questions about the test and then complete the fluency sheet.

January 25-29 Math

This week we will continue with the Powers of Ten and then move into review of multiplying and dividing decimals for our test next week!

Math December 14-16

Monday: 

  1. Take the post-assessment. Ms. Cooper needs a copy of this to give you credit. You can choose to print it out and write on it, then send Ms. Cooper a copy. Or you can write out the numbers on a piece of paper and send Ms. Cooper your answers. But you have to get it back to Ms. Cooper! 

Tuesday: 

  1. Take the pre-assessment. Remember to just do your best on this, it is not for a grade but it will be used to plan math instruction for Quarter 3! Make sure to send a picture to Ms. Cooper with your work and answers.

Wednesday:

  1. Finish any of the tests from this week that you need to finish
  2. Enjoy your break!

Math December 7-11

This week we are reviewing all of the units that we have completed so far this year. We will be retaking the Unit tests all week and will hopefully see some improvement! If you have any questions, please come to our math extra help classes or talk with Ms. Cooper to schedule a meeting. 

Monday: Review Decimals

  1. Watch 3 videos from the Unit “Decimal Place Value”
  2. Take the Unit Test, if you get less than 75% then try it one more time. If you still don’t understand it, make sure to message Ms. Cooper and she can help you with it! 

Tuesday: Review Subtract decimals

  1. Watch 3 videos from the Unit “Subtract Decimals”
  2. Take the Unit test, if you get less than 75% then try it one more time

Wednesday: Review Multi-digit Multiplication 

  1. Watch 3 videos from the Unit “Multi-digit Multiplication”
  2. Take the Unit test, if you get less than 75% then try it one more time after watching a video or two! If you still don’t understand it, make sure to message Ms. Cooper and she can help you with it! 

Thursday: Review Adding/Subtracting Fractions

  1. Watch 3 videos from the Unit “Adding and Subtracting Fractions”
  2. Take the Unit Test, if you get less than 75% then try it one more time.

Friday: Review Multiply Fractions

  1. Watch 3 videos from the Unit “Multiply Fractions”

Math November 30-December 4

Math: Dividing Fractions 

Students will be learning about dividing Fractions this week! We will be doing a combination of worksheets on paper and Khan Academy to give students the best opportunities to learn this concept. We will be spending two weeks on this topic, so we are taking our time getting through the Khan Academy lessons. 


Monday: 

  1. 10 minutes of Mobymax
  2. After class, rewatch the videos on Khan Academy in the Dividing Fractions Unit. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-fifth-grade-math/divide-fractions 
  3. Complete the practice problems titled “Fractions as Division” and “Fractions as division word problems”. Remember to make sure you are logged into your account so that you get full credit!

Tuesday: 

  1. 10 minutes of Mobymax
  2. Complete the worksheet attached to this assignment. If you have questions, go to Khan Academy and rewatch the videos on how to divide fractions! Remember to show your work and send Ms. Cooper a picture of what you completed. You also can upload the picture to this assignment if you prefer that. 

Wednesday: 

  1. 10 minutes of Mobymax
  2. After class, complete the Quiz #1 on the Dividing Fractions Khan Academy https://www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-fifth-grade-math/divide-fractions Remember to be logged into your account so that you get credit for what you do! 

Thursday: 

  1. 10 minutes of Mobymax
  2. Complete the worksheet attached to this assignment. If you have questions, go to Khan Academy and rewatch the videos on how to divide fractions! Remember to show your work and send Ms. Cooper a picture of what you completed. You also can upload the picture to this assignment if you prefer that.

Friday: 

  1. 30 minutes of Mobymax. If it doesn’t count your time correctly, then you can let me know and we can look at it together.

  2. Commoncore sheets: complete the long division worksheet and then check your work with the answer key.
  3. Look at the anchor chart to help you with solving the problems
  4. Take a picture of your work and send it to Ms. Cooper. You can attach it to the assignment or just email it to her
