What are we learning this week in Language Arts? 

Students will be able to use an outline to plan an essay. 

Students will be able to state a position on a topic and provide evidence to support their argument. 

Students can read closely to determine characters’ points of view and analyze the position a character would take on an issue.

Students will orally present a position for or against a topic by stating relevant arguments or claims. 

Students will use commas in a series of phrases and to separate introductory information.

-Start your Travel Journal, read and annotate Sri Lanka. 

Tuesday: 

-Lesson: Writing a Works Cited for a website source (writing) & Sensory Language Activity (reading) 

-Continue researching and taking notes. Include appropriately cited sources for your works cited. 

-Travel Journal- finish Sri Lanka and answer the comprehension questions. 

Wednesday: 

-Lesson: Writing a Works Cited for an Encyclopedia; both online and print 

-Continue researching and taking notes. Include appropriately cited sources for your works cited.
