SOCIAL STUDIES UPDATE FOR 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year and to Mrs. Wild's 8th Grade Social Studies!

This will be the most in depth update you will receive from my class, as it will contain important information that does not need to be included in future posts.

8th Grade Social Studies is broken into 2 different rosters this year, both will be taught by me.

Here is what the 7/8 Team has to say about our new schedule:
  • Our new schedule (A/B Literacy and Math) allows for teachers to specialize in only two content areas and become experts in these fields.
  • It also allows us to make sure all students who enter and leave the 7/8 pod are fully prepared with their grade level knowledge and standards.
  • As educators and professionals we want to meet students where they are at and provide them what they need individually. This means students in all classes may receive differentiated work to appropriately challenge them. As students meet and exceed grade level standards they will be appropriately challenged through differentiated instruction.
Every Sunday evening, you will receive an update for each class that your student(s) is/are in. This update will outline the week's agenda and any important due dates or other information.

On Mondays, students will be writing emails to their parents to give them updates on grades and classes. Even though this is a great way of building communication with your student(s), we also encourage you to continue that conversation at home, going through Infinite Campus and our Class Pages together so as to set expectations and check for understanding.

Please remember that if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your student(s) education, engaging in communication with your student(s) teacher is an imperative first step.
