Historians,
Last week we finished Topic 2 and this week we are starting Topic 3 The American Revolution. This is a quick topic and we should be able to complete it within the week. Since the quarter ends on Friday, I would like to have you all turn in any missing or uncompleted assignments by Thursday. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I appreciate you all for the hard work you have been doing so far this year, keep it up!
Have a week!

This week we are wrapping up Topic 2 on the forming of the American Colonies, taking a quiz, and then moving onto Topic 3 The American Revolution. We will also be finishing up our analysis of Enlightenment Thinkers and the Roots of American Democracy and will briefly discuss the Great Awakening. Have a week!

Week of 9/3 to 9/6

Hey folks,
This week we are wrapping up Topic 2, continuing to discuss the Triangular Trade, and we are also going to check back in with our friend Howard Zinn. Expect a quiz when we finish Topic 2 on Thursday or Friday. Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend!

Week of 8/26 to 8/29

Hey Sophomore Historians,

Last week we started looking at the origins of the thirteen colonies and analyzed the Salem Witch Trials. The memes you created were hilarious, nice work! This week we will be discussing the middle colonies, the Triangle Trade, and the Enlightenment's affect on the colonies. Be excellent this week!

Week of 8/19 to 8/23

Last week we read and discussed the first chapter of Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States and had an open class discussion about it on Friday. We also finished up Topic 1 on America's cultural roots and the Columbian Exchange and had a quiz on the material this Monday. This week we are starting Topic 2 on England's American colonies and will be discussing this topic into next week. I am really pleased with all of the participation and thoughtful discussions we are having in class! You guys rock!

Week of 8/12 - 8/16

Hey Folks,

It was great to to meet and get to know you all last week. I'm really excited about the coming year for this class and can't wait to more fully dive into US History. Last week we discussed the roots of US history by looking at early Native American societies and the empires of Western Africa. We also looked at the concepts of Historiography and political bias. This week we will tackle the Colombian Exchange, the Age of Exploration, talk a little more about historical perspectives, and hopefully begin to dive into the Howard Zinn book.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Have an excellent week!!!
