Welcome back from Thanksgiving break,

 

This wee k we will begin Topic 6: Reshaping America in the Early 1800's and will discuss the Mexican-American War, Texas, and Manifest Destiny. This will be the final topic we cover for the semester and I will be getting study guides for the midterm out to you soon. I have posted the power point notes for the previous Topic here on earlier posts so be sure to utilize those when you study for the midterm.

This week we will finish up our presentations on battle and campaign strategies of the War of 1812 and will continue our lecture note assignments on industrialization and agriculture of the early 1800's. We will conclude the week discussing Andrew Jackson. Have a great week everyone!

This week we will finish the War of 1812 with our campaign and battle analysis activity and then dive into the first industrial revolution. We will continue through Topic 5 and be talking about the Lowell Girls of Massachusetts and move toward Jacksonian Democracy.

This week we continue on with Topic 5: The Early Republic. We will have a Topic 4 quiz on Tuesday and I would like you to read Zinn chapter 5 this week.

This week we will take a quiz on Topic 4 (probably Wednesday) and begin Topic 5 The Early Republic. No class on Friday as it will be Hogwarts Day.

Hey Sophomores, 

Unit Test this Friday that has been postponed from last week due to testing and PSAT's. The Unit Test will cover Topics 1, 2, and 3 so use your notes and the Power Points that I have posted. We will also be finishing Topic 4 this week.

Sorry for being late with this post! As you all know we took the Topic 3 quiz this week and I had wanted to take the First Unit Test on Friday, but since we had testing and an assembly this week we will have to push it back until next week. Make sure to read Zinn chapter 4 for the test next week and study your topic notes for Topics 1, 2, and 3. I will see you on Friday and we will run through Topic 4.2 The Constitutional Convention.
