Kindergarten Music Week of 1/13/20

This week, students will:
 
Get a refresher on rules
Play on the hand drums/marimbas
- we will practice eighth notes and quarter notes
-on the marimbas, we will practice singing the notes as we play them
Sing and dance
-Grizzly Bear song
-Old Gray Cat

Kindergarten Music Week of 12/2/19

This week, students will be introduced to new rhythmic patterns by rote and then visually using flash cards.  They will play Rhythm Basketball with easy rhythms, then gradually increase the difficulty.
 
They will also play on marimbas, getting used to hand-eye coordination with rhythms.

KG Music Week of 11-18-19

This week, students will be learning about rhythms "ta" and "ti-ti" and how to recognize the patterns and count them.
 
They will also be singing and dancing, learning the motions and words to "Ants Go Marching", and play on hand drums.

Kinder Music week of 9/16/19

This week, students will be reviewing quarter note and eighth note rhythms on drums and learning how to read half notes. 
 
 

KG Music week of 9/9/19

This week, students will learn Ants Go Marching and how to play the hand drum part to it. They will also be learning motions for each verse. 
 
They will start a unit on rhythm that will go more into recognizing patterns. 

Kindergarten Music Week of 9/3/19

This is the first week of the new rotation.
 
Students will be going over rules of the music room, learning several songs, and playing some rhythms on drums.
 
 

Kindergarten Music Week of 8/26/19

This week students will play on the hand drums, playing quarter note and eighth note rhythms with quarter rests.
 
They will also be singing all of the songs they've learned so far including Grizzly Bear, The Old Gray Cat, and Ants Go Marching.

Music Kindergarten Week of 8/12/19

This week, students will continue learning songs to sing and dance to.  They will also play on hand drums to keep a beat and to play rhythms by rote.
 
They will learn about dynamics (loud and soft) through a song called "Grizzly Bear" where they will sing quieter as they get closer to "the bear".
