7/8 Week 6- 9/9-9/13

This week we will be starting off with a little 20minute walk/jog around the building. We will be playing some small sided Tchuokball tournaments. On Wednesday the students will be participating in a jump rope workout with a heart rate goal of 27minutes in the zone. In health we will begin talking about how to deal with stress in positive ways. 

Ninja Warrior Course @ Westgate!

Westgate will be hosting a Ninja Warrior obstacle course on Sept. 11th. All students that turn in a permission slip will have a time during the school day to come out and complete the challenge course, however they will also be here from 4:30-6:30pm for some unlimited Ninja fun. If you would like to do the course again and again and again from 4:30-6:30, it is only $15. Hope to see everyone there! 

7/8 Week 5 9/3-6/6

This week we will continue with our small sided team sports. Students will be participating in a soccer tournament. We will also be running outside and playing some flag football. On Wednesday the students will participate in a Tabata stations workout. In health we will begin working through our online mental health modules. 

7/8 Week 4 8/26-8/29

This week we will continue with our small sided team sports tournaments. We had a really intense and fun Tchoukball tournament this past week and we are looking to carry that momentum into next week! On Wednesday the students will be participating in a P90x plyometrics workout that will focus on developing their cardiovascular endurance and balance. Plyometrics is basically Jump Training, we will be getting airborne and sweaty! On Thursday, the students will be tasked with finding a Physical/Mental/Emotional Health current event. Once they find one that is interesting to them, they will write a 2 paragraph summary highlighting what they found interesting and how they can apply this to their lives. 

7/8 Week 3 8/19-8/23

This week we will start our small sided team sports tournaments. We will be playing some small sided high intensity soccer, tchoukball, and handball. On Wednesday, we will be doing a ladder workout where students are presented with a series of workouts, they start at the bottom and then work their way to the top one by one. The goal will be 22minutes in the performance heart rate zone of 70-100% of their max. In health we will be starting our online mental health awareness modules. 

7/8 8/12-8/16

This week we will be jumping right into our team sports unit. We will start the week by going outside, weather permitting, and doing some light jogging around the building. On Tuesday, we will be participating in our first Pacer test, which will be held every other week, and used to give each student an indication of how good of shape they are in. On Wednesday, we will get out the heart rate monitors are complete a TABATA workout with a goal of 20minutes in the performance heart rate zone. In health we will begin talking about ourselves and completing a little 'get to know me' project.
