Week of 5/26/20 - 5/29/20 Sanders' Advocacy

Hey Art Students!

This is our last week of art for the year, I know I'm sad too!

For this week, I would like for you to find a product in your house that you are going to redesign. I want you to look at an ordinary object and think about how you could change it to make it better design wise and the way it looks. You are going to sketch out your new design either online or with supplies at home and then point out and write what you changed and why.

For example, if I were to redesign a coca-cola can. I would add little grooves to the side to allow for your hand to grip it better. Then I would also change their logo and maybe add the look of dripping coca-cola along the side to make it look refreshing.

Send me your designs via email. :)

Week of 5/18/20 - 5/22/20 Sanders' Advocacy

Hey Art Students!

For this week I would like you to pretend you are a tree house designer! It can be as wild and creative as you would like.

I would like you to sketch what the front of the tree house would look like either on paper or microsoft paint. Does it have windows? How do you enter the tree house, ladder or zipline? What color is it?

Then I would like you to make a second sketch of what the inside would look like. What kind of furniture would it have? What type of activities could you do in the tree house? How do you get out of the tree house, slide or zipline?
Send me your two sketches to my email. :)

Week of 5/11/20 - 5/15/20 Sanders' Advocacy

Hey Art Students!

For this week I would like you to watch this brief video below about Texture.

You will be creating implied texture, which as shown in the video is creating texture visually without being able to touch it. I would like you to choose your favorite animal that has texture and then recreate their fur or skin by drawing on paper with your own supplies or on Microsoft paint or psykopaint. Pretend that you are putting a magnifying glass up to the skin or fur of that animal and then drawing that texture using shapes, strokes and color to fill up the page. Send me your animal texture design via email.

Week of 5/4/20 - 5/8/20 Sanders' Advocacy

Hey Art Students!

I will be posting your assignments during distance learning here.

For the first week, I want you to take the time for yourself and think about what is bringing you joy and happiness during this time of isolation and create artwork to explain that! It could be abstract or realism.

I want you to complete this art on Psyko Paint or Microsoft Paint, whichever you prefer or have access to. Psyko Paint is a pretty awesome website that has different brush strokes made famous by various artists. You can use a picture of your own, their pictures or start with a blank slate. Up to you! When you’re done you can email your design and a brief description of what it is and why it brings you happiness. If you have art supplies at home you can also draw on a piece of paper. Just take a picture of it and email it to me.
