When to Keep Kids Home

Hello Parents,

We have seen quite a few different illnesses going around school the last few weeks so I thought it might be helpful to send a few reminders.  Please review the attachment that explains when to keep kids home from school.  We have this policy in place to help keep your family and the rest of our community healthy.  Here is a link to the health clinic page for more information:

When to Keep Your Student Home:
1. The child is unable to participate in daily activities.
2. The child doesn't feel well enough to take part in normal activities.
3. The child needs more care than staff can give, and still care for the other children.
4. The illness is on the list on the Health Clinic page and staying home is recommended.See Attached Form Please.

If your student does need to stay home for any reason, please make sure to let the school know by either calling, filling out an attendance form, or emailing directly.  If at any time your student is seen by a provider, please get a note from them for school so we can excuse the absence.  Here is a link to the attendance page for more information:

All medication, including over the counter medications, that need to be taken by students must be kept in the school health office, the appropriate form filled out and must be kept in the original container. Our school medication form must be filled out by a doctor and signed by the parent. Find the form you need on our Health Clinic page. You can email, fax or drop off forms at the front desk. If you have any questions please email the school nurse at [email protected].

Please feel free to call or email with any questions you may have!

Many Thanks!

Hello Parents!
This week students will continue their investigation of teens numbers using what they know about place value to apply addition to composing and decomposing numbers. Students will be able to identify that teens are made of a group of 10 and some more. Students will practice building teens using groups of tens and adding more. By the end of this unit students should be able to identify teens numbers and decompose each number into a group of 10 and some more.
Example:
13 is made of 10 and 3 more
17 is made of 10 and 7 more
You can support your student by using objects (marshmallows, fruit snacks, raisins, blocks, legos) at home to build their teens and matching them with a flashcard with that number.

Math Update: 1/21/2020

Hello Parents!

This week we are reviewing routines and procedures. We will also review our counting, skip counting, one more, and one less strategies through math games.

This week we will also introduce greater than, less than, or equal to strategies.
You can support your student at home by counting to 100, practicing one more and one less with numbers 0-20. As well as Unit Six, which focuses on 'all about 10', ways we can count to ten, make ten, and able to see groups of ten.

Hello Parents,

This week your student is wrapping up Unit Four, which is working with numbers 0-10 and starting Unit Five, which is focusing on Measurement!

A recap on Unit Four: students will focus on counting, recognizing, identifying, and writing numbers 0-10; as well as using a variety of methods to model ways 0-10 may look like. We are also working on recognizing numbers that are less than and greater than. ( Students will also be representing/ modeling numbers that are one less or one more than the number provided).

****This Monday we will have our Post Assessment on Unit Four!****

Ways you can help support your student at home with math are as following:
  • Practice Counting and Skip Counting by 2's and 10's
  • Model quantities of numbers (Ex: showing 20 items to represent the number 20).
  • Practice writing numbers 0-20.
  • Comparing numbers 1-10 (if your child grasps this concept, try numbers 1-20).
  • Practicing numbers 1-10 one less or one more than the number given.
