Mrs. Maslen will only accept this quarters work until Wedneday!

Last day to turn in missing work to Mrs. Maslen's class is on Wednesday. The gradebook is up to date as of the afternoon of 3/8/2020. I am noticing that most students are missing the adding and subtracting fraction classwork, the multiplication fraction classwork, and the math workshop: Hockey Practice. Students can find the fraction in their OneNote- 2019-2020 Student Portfolio. Students need to turn in the math work they did to solve either the math clue or the color-by-number, having the riddle or coloring page complete is the part that is being graded. The file for the Hockey Practice Math Workshop page is attached above this posting.

Please see the files above if your child is missing any assignments. If you are not sure of their assignment/grade status, please check IC (Infinite Campus); directions on how to do this are on the Westgate website, under the parent section
Assignments that are missing from the above file list are assignments that were in class assignments only and can not be made up.

4th Grade Math- Week of 2/19/20

We have a short week this week. As such, we will focus our energy on completing a CMAS practice test, reviewing test taking strategies, and reviewing the test. Students do take the CMAS at their grade level, not their ability level. For example, if a child is 4th grade but working at a 5th grade level, the CMAS will place them in the 4th grade test.

4th Grade Math- Week of February 3, 2020

This week, students will begin the fractions unit. This week will be a focus on mathematical vocabulary surrounding fractions. Students will demonstrate knowledge of this vocabulary through their math workshop write up. The fraction vocabulary students will learn includes:

Numerator
Proper Fraction
Improper Fraction
Mixed Number
Ascending Order
Descending Order
Equivalent Fractions
Unit Cube

Like Denominators
 

4th Grade Math- Week of January 27, 2020

This week, students will focus on long division. They will be placed in one of four different groups depending on their level of long division background knowledge. Assignments due for this week will be the long division worksheet and a long division mini-assessment, which will be given on Friday.

Possible Math Homework

Many students needed more time to complete today's Math Workshop problem. These students have taken their papers home. They need to solve the problem and write a mathematical paragraph that explains their thinking. The assignment they received is posted below, please see comments below the document if more information is needed.
