Week 05/13 - 05/17

Last Week: We learned to solve missing sides and angles in triangles using the trig identities sine, cosine, and tangent.

This Week: We will learn to convert between Cartesian Coordinates and Polar Coordinates. We will also examine the Unit Circle and begin reviewing for the final.

Due by the end of the week: Missing Sides sheet, Missing Angles sheet

Week 05/06 - 05/10

Last week: We learned to convert between degrees and radians, as well as how to solve for missing sides in the 30-60-90 triangle.

This week: We will learn to identify and use the three main trig identities: sine, cosine, and tangent.

Due by the end of the week: Radian/Degree Conversion sheet, 30-60-90 Triangle practice

Weekly Update 04/29 - 05/03

Last Week: We finished our work with circles last week.

This Week: We will begin trigonometry with Radian/Degree conversions and the 30-60-90 triangle.

Due by the end of the week: None

Week 04/22 - 04/26

Last week: We learned to complete the square to find circle equations. We also wrote equations when given a center and a random second coordinate on the circle.

This week: We will take a quiz and learn to graph or move circles under more complex circumstances.

Due from last week: Completing the Square circle practice sheet

Week 4/15 - 4/19

Before break: We prepared for the SAT by studying imaginary numbers and complex exponents.

This week: We are returning to our study of circles by learning to complete the square to find centers and radii when given imperfect equations.

Due by the end of the week: None

Week 03/18 - 03/20

Last Week: We began using logarithms to solve equations before taking a practice SAT.

This Week: We will review our practice SATs and learn to use logarithms with scientific calculators.

Due by the end of the week: Intro to Logarithms sheet

NO SCHOOL Thursday 3/14

Due to road and weather conditions, Westgate will be closed tomorrow. Enjoy the snow and stay safe and warm!

NO SCHOOL Wednesday 3/13

Due to weather, there will be no school tomorrow, Wednesday 3/13, for any Adams 12 schools. This may go without saying, but clubs for the day are also cancelled.

Week 03/11 - 03/15

Last week: We concluded our study of imaginary numbers, took a quiz, and began discussing complex exponents in preparation for learning logarithms.

This week: We will learn to use logarithms to solve simple equations and continue preparing for the SAT.

Due from last week: Imaginary Numbers practice sheet, Imaginary Numbers quiz

Week 03/04 - 03/08

Last Week: We learned to solve equations using i, the imaginary number.

This Week: We will continue solving equations involving i, such as with conjugates. We will also take a quiz over our imaginary number knowledge so far.

Due from last week: Practice with i sheet

Week 02/25 - 03/01

Last week: We learned to graph circles, as well as how to tell if a point is inside, outside, or on a circle based on equations alone.

This week: We will prepare for the SAT by learning about i, the imaginary number. We will also continue our study of circles by learning to "complete the square" to fill in missing information.

Due by the end of the week: Graphing Circles sheets

Week 02/19 - 02/22

Last week: We learned how to use the Secant-Secant Theorem to solve for lengths in secants intersecting circles.

This week: We will be beginning to graph circles.

Due from last week: Working with Secants sheet
