Hello Westgate Families,
This was a short week due to MLK Day and Junior Achievement Day, but we jumped right into comparing producers and consumers in the market. They are currently working a flip book to keep track of the terms we are learning in this unit (goods, services, producer, consumer, needs and wants). Next week we will start on the needs versus wants section. This is a great opportunity to distinguish things at home that they NEED and things they just WANT.

Hello Westgate Families,
This week in social studies we talked about how traditions can be different and looked at how people celebrate differently. We started a small project comparing how Christmas is celebrated around the world. You may find a paper labeled “Family Celebrations” in your students Friday folder this week that is marked to be completed. If so, you can encourage your student to ask members of your family or friends to help them fill it out.
Next week we will continue to compare celebrations around the world and move into our culture unit!
