Hamilton's Literacy 5/28/2019

Literacy: This week, Superkids will consist of the following:

Spelling Pattern:  soft /c/ pattern

Memory Words:  kind, buy, find, right, wash, light

Grammar:  Use adverb ly, and adjectives

Fluency Practice: "The Garden Club”

Writing:  Poetry Writing

This week, ask your child to tell you the rhyme for the soft c.

Spelling Pattern:  /oi/ and /oy/ pattern

Memory Words:  kind, buy, find, right, wash, light

Grammar:  Use adverb /ly/, and adjectives

Fluency Practice: "The Garden Club”

Writing:  Poetry Writing

This week ask your child to explain the rule for using /oi/ and /oy/

Memory Words:  both, again, laugh, cold, does, know 

Grammar:  Use synonyms  

Fluency Practice: "Sal and the Fire Department 

Writing:  Editing and rewriting our character stories 

 

This week ask your child to tell you the story of er, ir, and ur.

Grammar:  Use the suffix -ful

Fluency Practice: "Party Planning”

Writing:  Learning to draft a problem-and-solution story from a story plan

This week ask your child to tell you the rhyme for /ar/

Spelling Pattern:  Decode and associate /aw/ with aw words. 

Memory Words:  come, coming, they, our, put 

Grammar:  Understand and using end marks 

Fluency Practice: "Is it Fun?” 

Writing:  Writing using verbs, writing different types of sentences 

This week ask your child about the four different types of sentences.

Grammar:  Understand and use adjectives and the conjunction and

Fluency Practice: "Golly is on the Ball”

Writing:  Writing descriptive sentences

This week ask your child about how they can use the conjunction and in a sentence.
