7/8

Great Job this week 7/8. You guys dominated workout Wednesday and it was so great to see everyone so determined to meet their goals. Tuesday was round 2 of the Pacer Test and it is safe to say that we had over 75% of the class improve on their first score. Continue to put in the work and you will see the benefits. Thursday, the students continued their work on our health modules working to understand what makes us who we are and how our words, actions, and decisions influence who we are as a person. Next week we will continue with our team sports. We will try and get outside for some frisbee golf, weather permitting.

***Don't forget, all modules must be completed with a quiz score of 70% or higher by Thursday September 20th.***

7/8

Great Job this week 7/8. We started playing some team handball and had a little friendly handball tournament. It was so great to see people volunteering to play on another team when they needed more players. On Wednesday we did some P90x plyometrics and got everyone all warmed up and working hard. Thursday we continued our health modules and talked about the importance of effective communication. Next week we will continue with our team sports.

Parent Focus Group

Parents! THIS Thursday, September 6th, Amanda Novak and Generation Schools Network are hosting a Parent & Student Focus Group about topics such as bullying, social emotional learning, and more. Join us for meaningful conversation and DONUTS on Thursday morning from 8:15am-9:15am. We need your input - your voices matter!

Week 4

Great job this week 7/8. I know many of you had mixed feelings about playing Hockey but I really appreciate everyone that tried to play the game and participate to the best of their abilities. There are many things that we do not necessarily want to do but learning to push through and get it done will get you very far in life. You all rebounded very well and we had nearly 100% of student reach their Workout Wednesday heart rate goal! I hope you recognize the hard work you put in and are proud of yourselves. I am very proud of the effort I saw and hope you guys continue to bring that positive attitude and effort for the rest of the year! Keep up the good work. Next week we will be playing some handball and satryn ball.

Week 3 7/8

Great Job this week 7/8. This week we started playing some wiffleball inside and played a nice competitive game. We also continued our health curriculum and worked through the module talking about 'understanding and managing our emotions.'  On Wednesday the students were presented with a ladder workout and challenged to work their way up the ladder to achieve their heart rate goal of 30mins at 70-100% of their max heart rate. Next week we will continue playing wiffleball and soccer.

Week 2

Great job this week 7/8. You guys dominated our first Workout Wednesday with the heart rate monitors. It was so good to see everyone sweating, working hard, and achieving their workout goal. In health we started talking about what influences us. What makes us who we are. Why we see the world the way we do and how we can help change the world. We will continue working through the modules next week as well. We played some hand eye coordination games and finished up with some friendly games of soccer. Friday we were able to get outside and play some knockout.

Keep up the good work 7/8.

Week 1

It was very nice seeing everyone again this first week back in PE. It was a little 'different' week without our typical WorkoutWednesday and not being able to use the gym for a few days but these students still found ways to get sweating and moving.
We spent sometime participating in our team building games/activities. On Friday we played some competitive Cageball and then we were able to get outside and play some basketball/four square.

Next week we will be getting into our soccer games, doing a guided workout, and on Thursday we will be talking about emotional health.

Looking forward to another great week next week!
