5/6 Week 3- 5/20-5/24

This week we will be starting our handball/tchoukball units. Students will be working to develop their hand eye coordination: their ability to catch a a and throw to a moving target. On Wednesday the students will be participating in a design your own workout with a goal of 25mins in the zone of 70-100% of their max heart rate. In health we will be wrapping up our growth mindset talk. 

5/6 Week 2- 5/13-5/17

This week we will begin our handball unit. Students will be participating in a variety of catching and throwing games to work on developing their ability to catch a and throw to a moving target. We will be playing some small sided hand ball games. On wednesday the students will be participating in our Wild Workout with a heart rate goal of 22minutes in the performance heart rate zone. In health we will continue our growth mindset talk. 

5/6 Week 1- 5/6-5/10

This week we will starting off with some teambuilding activities to get everyone comfortable working together with different classmates. We will be starting our dynamic stretching/warm up routine that we will do at the beginning of each class. We will also be starting the fastest class challenge. The 5/6 students will be competing against the 3/4 students to see which class can run the most laps by the end of our rotation. Winner will receive a free pass on their final workout Wednesday.  In lieu of our workout on Wednesday, the students will be participating in a 10minute scooter workout. 
In health we will be talking about the importance of stretching. 

5/6 Week 4- 4/29-5/3

This week students will be participating in Tchoukball games. We will set up a little 3 team tchoukball tournament and students will work on catching a and throwing to a moving target while working to increase their cardiovascular endurance. On Wednesday, the students will be participating in our Tabata circuit workout. In health we will be talking about the importance of stretching. 
They will also be taking their dynamic stretching test. 

5/6 Week 3- 4/22-4/26

This week we will be starting our Tchoukball unit. Students will be placed in small groups as they work on throwing the ball at the goal and practice catching the ball being returned off the goal. We will do some small sided drills to practice the skills necessary for game play and then we will break up into some small sided teams and have a tchoukball tournament. In health we will be exploring the website trainugly.com. The students will be asked to read two articles and summarize what they gathered and found important. On Wednesday the students will be participating in a Wild Ladder Workout with a goal of 20minutes in the performance heart rate zone of 70-110% of their max. 

5/6 week 2- 4/16-4/20

This week we will continue with our hand eye coordination skill games as well as start our small sided handball tournament where students will be putting those skills to the test in game play. In health we will be talking about the importance of growth mindset, what is it, how do you get it, why it matters. For our workout the students will be participating in a tabata circuit workout with a goal of 20minutes in the performance heart rate zone. 

5/6 Week 1- 4/8-4/12

This week we will be playing some capture the flag, crazy cageball, and some gagaball. There will not be a workout or health this week. Enjoy your spring break!

5/6 Week 3- 3/4-3/8

This week we will continue to play handball. We will also be mixing in some jump rope stations. In health we will be talking about putting together a FITT workout plan. Students will learn key vocabulary as well as the various components necessary to ensure a beneficial workout. On Wednesday the students will be participating in a circuit workout with a goal of 23minutes at 70-100% of their max heart rate.
