Ms. M. Language Arts Week of April 10

This week and next (due to testing) we have creative 'Who lives here' warmups where we practice writing using the RACES format and using our written answers to help guide verbal responses. 
Students will continue their project/drafting their poets' biography. They will also read three chapters daily of Malala(the chapters are very short). They will also have a comprehension worksheet/discussion on the chapters read.

This week we are researching our chosen Poets and finding relevant information for our biography projects.  We are also reading a chapter a day of I Am Malala.

This week in Language Arts we are finishing up the difference between summarizing, paraphrasing, and quoting a website. With that, we will be starting to plan our research paper. In reading we are still working our way through Hatchet. We will be answering comprehension questions and taking chapter quizzes.

This week in language arts we are going to dive into our research unit. We will be focusing on finding out if a website is bias or not and how to evaluate different websites. This will help us when it comes to looking at website when we start research and writing.
