We will continue to work on Unit 5 and move onto lesson 3! In lesson 3 we will read how houses are built and what materials are needed. In addition to this, kindergartners will be introduced to the letter 'g' and review the letters 'r, o, b, and c.' Lastly, we will work on the following sight words this week: do, little, by, and then.

We will begin our second lesson of unit 5! In our phonological awareness lesson, kindergarteners will be introduced to the vowel 'o' and the consonant 'r'. In addition to this, we will discuss how the Earth is our home with poems and stories. Lastly, kindergarteners will be introduced to four new sight words: some, there, out, and do. 

We will be finishing our last lesson in our fourth unit! In our phonological awareness lesson, kindergarteners will be introduced to the vowel 'i' and review the consonants 'h,' 't,' 'n,' and 'l'. In addition to this, we will continue to learn about how objects move with poems and stories. Lastly, kindergarteners will learn four new sight words: said, was, were, and down.  

We will begin our second lesson in our fourth unit. In this unit, we will continue to explore how objects move (push, pull, and applying a force). We will also read and listen for the letters 'n' and 'l'. Lastly, we will begin to practice our December sight words! Specifically: all, look, what, and her. 

We will continue to read informational texts, stories, and poems about the weather. Along with our regular letter sound and recognition routines, students will practice activities with the letter ‘a’. We will also review our letters 'd', 'm', 'p,' and 's'. We will continue to practice our November sight words. Specifically: girl, him, and but.

Specifically: as, have, his, and boy. 

We will continue to explore our letters and sight words through writing and speaking. Along with this, we will read two poems and a fairy tale. While reading these genres, we will explore what is a plot and how cause and effect plays a role in texts. 

We will be starting our second unit! Throughout this unit, we will be reading books about kindness. In addition to this, we will practice our skills in letter name and letter sound recognition. Lastly, we will start centers! 

This week in Literacy, we will continue going over classroom routines. As well as talking about specific letters and working in our Alphabet Book letters M-Q.

This week in literacy we will be going over Letters A- M in our ABC book. We will also be starting our first Letter in Open Court. We will review letters A-J and start our ABC Poem Book. We will also be reading stories and learning vocabulary words and main ideas. 

 

This week in literacy we will continue going over classroom routines. We will also be working on our August journal and practice writing with the sentence "I like _______."
