5th Grade Music Week of 12-7
Monday: Make sure you're able to play the first three belts in Recorder Karate. Questions to answer for your practicing:
1. Am I keeping a steady beat?
2. Can I count and clap the rhythms?
3. What notes are in this song?
4. Play it in small sections, slowly.
Tuesday: Zoom Class at 1:00. We will be reviewing rhythms. We will clap and count the rhythms, then play them on recorder. Then volunteers will play for us and I will answer questions about any of the songs.
Wednesday: Check that your assignments for the week are turned in and practice recorder for 15-30min.
Thursday: Zoom Class at 1:00. We'll start by counting and clapping rhythms. We'll be working through the 5th belt, possibly moving to the 6th depending on where most of us are at.

Wednesday: No School! Keep working on the belt you're on. Are you following the steps?

5th Grade Music (Sanders) Week of 11/2
This week is our official first week in distance learning.
Monday - Make sure you have the zoom link and password (found on Teams). Make sure you have a recorder (provided by the school).
Tuesday - Zoom class at 1:00PM. We will review Hot Cross Buns (last week's lesson). Then we will begin the 2nd belt and review how to turn in a FlipGrid assignment.
Wednesday - Make sure you're caught up on your assignments in Teams, practice for your next belt.
Thursday - Zoom class at 1:00PM. We will be going over the 2nd belt and moving to the 3rd belt if everyone is caught up. The 1st three belts all use the same 3 notes - B, A, and G.
5th Grade Music Week of 10-26
This week is our first week in distance learning. You can find all assignments and Zoom links in Microsoft Teams.
We will learn how to read notes of the treble clef and rhythms by playing recorders. You will be offered a recorder if you do not already have one. To get a recorder, come to the school next week (during school hours) to pick it up at the front desk.
Zoom classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-1:30PM. The link to the Zoom meeting can be found in Teams under the "Files" tab in the Class Materials folder.
Tuesday: Zoom class at 1 - We will be going over the White Belt in recorder karate.
Thursday: Zoom class at 1 - We will review the White Belt and begin the Yellow and Orange Belt songs.
5th Grade Music week of 10-19
I hope you all had a great first week back at school, it was great to see everyone.
This week:
Mon/Tues: We will review our first chord on guitar, G, and we will learn two more chords - E minor and C. We will also practice strumming and rhythms.
Wed/Thurs: We will work on switching between chords in rhythm and applying it to playing a song with multiple chords.
