For our island project, the students created a government of how they believe that their island should run. 
 
Last week we focused on basic economics vocabulary.  The students began creating a personal budget of what they would predict that their life would look like in 10 to 15 years.  They will finish creating that budget.  The next step they will lose their job and have to create their own business in order to help support their economy for their island.
