This week we are focusing all on fables and folktales! Students will not only read wonderful stories to help strengthen their understanding of morals, plot diagrams, and theme, but will continue to write their own. We will finish up our partner fable writing from last week and transition into writing our own fables. By the end of May, our class with a have a "published" book of stories to take home.

 

Our next unit is reading and writing poetry. I recommend talking about this at home because this unit can be challenging for students to grasp (figurative language is hard!).

 

We will also celebrate AAPI Heritage month!
