Week of 8/21/23

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Last week, unfortunately, our Science B class was forced to come inside during our experimentation time on Friday due to lightning so we are going to continue that tomorrow. Both groups will hopefully have a fuller and richer understanding of the structure of matter and what that structure affords by the end of this unit.

Magic School Bus Gets Energized

Week of 8/14/23

Hello Parents and Guardians,

This we'll begin our first unit on Matter, its states, how we measure those states, and what we can do with them. This unit will culminate in an engineering and design project the premise of which you'll find below. I will be looking for parent volunteers to come in and operate as panelists for the students to present to. It may not be until mid to late September so be on the lookout for that.

The Energy Challenge

Students will work in groups to design and build a model of a sustainable energy system that could be used to power a small community. The system must be able to generate enough energy to meet the community's needs, while also being environmentally friendly.
