December 4-8
This week we are transitioning to learning about Native American holidays that take place in the winter. We will also learn about different winter holidays celebrated around the world.
November 27-December 1
We are continuing our unit on Indigenous people in Colorado. We learned a lot about the Native Americans of the Great Plains and will continue to do so. We will also be focusing in Indigenous art and its impact on Colorado and the United States as a preparation for our trip to the Denver Art Museum.
Novemeber 13-17
We are continuing our introduction to Indigenous people in Colorado. Students learned briefly about the Ute Mountain Tribe last week and will continue to do so this week. Students will learn about the Ute Mountain Tribe's lives before and after colonization, as well as the impact that they have on Colorado society today.
Novemeber 6-9
We are continuing our introduction to Indigenous people in Colorado. Students will learn about the different tribes who inhabit Colorado today and in the past. We will analyze how Indigenous people have been treated in Colorado over the years.
October 30-November 3
Students will work on a short unit about Colorado Rivers. They will learn about how rivers are used, the importance of rivers and the effects of climate change on the rivers in CO.
October 23-27
This week we are continuing our unit on Colorado topography. Students will learn more about 14ers, Big Horn Sheep, and the 5 major mountian ranges in Colorado.
