hey guys I brought in Mishawaka this week like I told you I was going to cuz she didn't want to come in all semester but we figured this would be a fun one we're talking about gas laws how's it going it's good so all of your fun chemistry background what was the funnest stuff you did with gas laws gas laws my favorite one was until an exploded and what she was doing we were still talking when it happened was she trying to teach it with that true Subway I wonder on the balloon experiment like that if you how much pressure it would take in comparison to like doing it in like a walk-in refrigerator in like a restaurant versus doing it out in like the Sahara Desert and then pressure versus temperature which is which gas law pressure and temperature would be that's the one I can't ever say properly that's why I my favorite one of my teachers ever did with us cuz you guys all know I grew up in the middle of Farm and Ranch Country was the gas pressures in side irrigation tubes cuz you would have a spy for them to get the water to come out on the other end I have little tiny hand so I couldn't ever do the clap if the end to get it to do it I would have to submerge it seal it with my hand and then pull it out but if you hit it hard enough with your hand you can create enough pressure vacuum in the tube to get the ear ocean water to flow on a dump I never thought about that before it's a lot of fun it's really gross because the water is disgusting and it has snakes in it but works that job for two days and then I quit it's really cool castle of stuff to do when I told my boss who was a farmer gas laws she didn't understand water but everything's chemistry even my cooking has actually been here cooking bread reason you add the yeast yeast in your salt on separate the bull otherwise it deactivates the air pockets in the east the fungus right and we did couple weeks so just so we were just talking before we started recording about how gas laws the calculations themselves it's just understanding how all the different variables in Iraq which is part of why I told you guys you don't have I'm not going to make you do the calculations for this but it's looking at how does pressure and temperature and the volume of gas so think about like a neon sign neon anymore different gases different colors but if you have just a little bit of volume in there you're not going to get a big break low but if you have a small tube in a lot of gas volume in there you're going to have that higher pressure which is going to charge us with the electricity happy clue the office kind of fun stuff stuff you wouldn't even think about cars with cooking with gas what's another fun examples you can think of and it was like when you cook a turkey like those thermometers that are already in them Slither is gas laws why it popped out because there's a little bit of gas in that little thermometer attached to it and it's programmed when it reaches a certain pressure aka the temperature heating up the molecules in there to pop up I never thought about it but yeah neither had I and then when I was looking at examples today is like a temperature and volume being in the Middle School sometimes has a funny story my sophomore year in high school we took a field trip to the mountains right outside Yellowstone and we all had our packs with this email have cans of bear spray with it which is 4 times stronger than the mace police officers carry and it was a 12-oz can cuz the Bears were just waking up in the spring that's when they're their most vicious cuz they're hungry one kid left it on the bus and it got up to 80 degrees outside that day so in that hot mess just the 10 of bear spray exploded not only scared the pee out of the bus driver literally but it made the bus so that nobody could get pressure of all that pepper exploding contained environment pressure and temperature equals boom with aerosols especially on hot days in your car they do it it's not just when they're cold heat will make them do it to you and then you have the sticky hot mess call big sister ice crystals that burst out through the hole in the car when you heat it up that literally does go and then you sugar syrup all over the inside of your car yeah booking flights we have to clear all the air out of the lines the price turn the water pushes the pressure of the gas out throttle are lungs as humans doesn't love the locks are fun and they're spongy yes and they're the color of the pink erasers if you're healthy and don't smoke don't ever do it all kinds of fun stuff can be applied to gas laws think about the chart you guys feel the last week how that explained exactly with each of the gas laws of looking at think about how that applies with STP and what that actually means for duplicating an experiment experiment up in her room if I can't duplicate that experiment down in my room and get identical or very nearly identical results it's not about it now we can recreate the temperature and pressure and Michelle's room please I could use some heat in my room except ice box but if you can look at that works with even looking at stuff not like what the code is spearmint different scientists all over the world have claimed two different result but when other scientists try and go and duplicate their results using STP which is what everything should be done in there not getting the same results so it's not a valid experiment something happened in the experiment to change the conditions that were happening so you've got to be able to duplicate almost results for it to be a valid scientific process one example excuse to make sure that everyone when you're making a peanut butter and jelly and giving someone the directions to make it and you need to be that specific Lake Michigan understand what you're saying absolutely thanks Michelle been a lot of fun any tips for the kids going into their chemistry finals I suggest to get all the information you need to know and try to explain it and works like just say it because if you can say and words and explain it then you can write it can you identify things that you might realize you because I know when I save something I literally talk to myself and it works I talk to myself all the time anyway whether I'm studying or not so look back at your notes you can use your notes and your book during the test so just make sure you're using your resources and being detailed and explicit I can't read what's in your head when were in the classroom and I definitely can't read what's in your head if you don't write it down distance telepathy not my strong suit thanks Michelle it's been a lot of fun
