My name is Amanda Novello, and I am honored to serve as the 7-12 Assistant Principal at Westgate Community School. Since joining Westgate in 2019, I have had the privilege of teaching high school English, serving on the school's leadership team, and advising Student Council. While I will always consider myself a teacher at heart, I am excited to expand my impact through educational leadership and continue supporting the incredible students, staff, and families that make Westgate such a special community.

My journey into education was inspired long before I entered a classroom. Watching my brother thrive in an alternative educational environment showed me the life-changing impact that the right school can have on a child. That experience sparked a passion for education and a desire to create learning environments where every student is challenged, supported, and known. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Media Production with a minor in Literature from Buffalo State University before completing my Master's degree in Contemplative Education at Naropa University, where I studied whole-child education and the importance of educating both the mind and the person.

My hope is that every student who walks through our doors feels seen, valued, safe, and inspired to become the best version of themselves. Students deserve an administrator they can trust; someone they know will listen, advocate for them, and support them through both challenges and successes. Building relationships is at the heart of everything I do, and I am passionate about partnering with families to ensure every student has an exceptional learning experience at Westgate.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son Torrey (who turned 1 this past summer!), our dog Delilah, and our cat Elmo. I also enjoy family walks, reading, spending time on or near the water, watching true crime tv and sometimes spending time visiting with family in New York!

I look forward to partnering with our students and families as we continue to make Westgate a place where gifted learners can thrive.
