WESTGATE COMMUNITY SCHOOL FUN RUN
Every year, our school community comes together for one of the most energetic and inspiring events of the season—our annual Fun Run! This lively tradition fuels our Specials programs—P.E., Music, Art, and iLab—by raising funds that empower teachers to bring unique and essential resources into their classrooms. Students hit the track with enthusiasm, running laps to earn achievements for themselves and their class, while family and friends cheer them on. By pledging flat-rate donations family and friends can help students unlock support-level prizes knowing their donations help these classes and teachers.

INNOVATION IN MOTION FUN RUN - September 4th, 2026
This year’s Fun Run is all about iLab and the innovation that comes with problem solving!
Let's help Mr. Elliot in raising funds for innovative projects that will help students learn.
Every donation from family and friends brings us closer to a more innovative and interesting experience for all!
RACE DAY SHIRTS
Purchase a commemorative race shirt through our Spirit Store. Shirts are currently available for purchase before the race and for up to two weeks afterward, so no one misses out on the chance to show their school spirit! In this way, more of your sponsorship dollars go directly into the iLab program, and you can order t-shirts in your team colors or the color you prefer. Parents and guardians will also be able to purchase a shirt to show their support!
Every Student Gets a Keepsake!
Each participant will receive a custom race bib with the Innovation in Motion logo to wear during the run. These bibs will be marked with the number of laps completed and will be sent home as a special memento of their achievement.
Support Through Sponsorships
- Friends and family can sponsor a student through our Innovation in Motion Fun Run | Westgate Community School.
- Sponsorships are a flat rate (not per lap), and sponsors must include the student’s name and the amount they wish to contribute.
- Funds raised got directly to supporting our iLab program!
- Be sure to put in the STUDENT NAME for whom the sponsorship should be credited to.
- Checks and cash are also accepted! Please put your donation in an envelope and deliver to the box in the vestibule or to the front desk. Provide the student's name and we'll be sure it will get credited!

DAY OF THE EVENT
The Innovation in Motion Fun Run will start promptly at 8:30 AM! All run times will be in the morning. We will post running schedule with grade start times soon!
Things to Remember
- Water Bottles: Please send your student with a water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Dress for Success: Students should wear comfortable running clothes.
- Show Your Spirit: If you purchased a Fun Run T-shirt, Friday is the day to wear it! Otherwise, students are encouraged to wear Westgate gear or their POD color.
For Parents Attending
- Drop-off First: Please drop off your student in the car line before parking.
- Where to Watch: The race will take place on the track in the field. See the map attached for your cheer locations.
- Be Mindful of Runners: We ask that you stay off the track area and keep to the sidelines of the path.
- Get Creative: Bring your own signs or make one at our sign-making station in the amphitheater area!
Find parking in the front parking lot and walk up to the PARENT area for viewing the Fun Run. We will have a sign creation center set up in the amphitheater area for you to make signs if needed. Feel free to bring your own signs and pompoms to cheer students on!
Please do not stand on or cross the track, but stay on the sidelines to cheer. Thank you!
RUN TIMES
- 7th & 8th Grade: 8:30 - 8:50 (15 minutes of running)
- Kindergarten: 9:10 - 9:25 (10 minutes of running)
- 5th& 6th Grade: 9:30 - 9:50 (15 minutes of running)
- 3rd & 4th Grade: 10:00 - 10:15 (10 minutes of running)
- 1st & 2nd Grade: 10:25 - 10:35 (10 minutes of running)
- High School: 10:45 - 11:00 (15 minutes of running)
Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for a few more volunteers to help out on the morning of the race. We will likely need some assistance with some pre-race preparation for the K-2 grades. If you’re available and have your volunteer documents and background check in, we’d greatly appreciate your support! Sign up for set up/clean up, helping at the water station, first aid station, or with helping younger students pin on bibs.
After the Run
This is a half-day, but classes are expected to run as normal when students are not running in their allotted time. Please help us set the expectation that students will return to class after their portion of the event.
Still Want a Shirt or to Make a Sponsorship?
You can also continue to collect sponsorship donations through purchasing an Innovation in Motion T-shirt. After September 18th, sponsorships will no longer be accepted, and the T-shirt design will be taken off the Spirit Store listings.
