WESTGATE COMMUNITY SCHOOL FUN RUN

Every year, our school community comes together for one of the most energetic and inspiring events of the season—our annual Fun Run! This lively tradition fuels our Specials programs—P.E., Music, Art, and iLab—by raising funds that empower teachers to bring unique and essential resources into their classrooms. Students hit the track with enthusiasm, running laps to earn achievements for themselves and their class, while family and friends cheer them on. By pledging flat-rate donations family and friends can help students unlock support-level prizes knowing their donations help these classes and teachers.

 LET'S GOGH FUN RUN - September 26th, 2025

This year’s Fun Run is all about fueling creativity! We’re rallying together to support our incredible Art program, led by the talented Ms. Houghton.
 
With your help, we hope to raise funds for exciting new tools that will bring student projects to life—like DSLR and film cameras, a tabletop darkroom, linoleum cutting supplies, film rolls, developing chemicals, a full class set of alcohol markers, and clay molds. Every lap our students run helps unlock these artistic opportunities, and every flat-rate donation from family and friends brings us closer to a more vibrant, hands-on art experience for all. Let’s run for imagination, inspiration, and innovation!

What’s New This Year?

While we won’t be offering free T-shirts this time, families can still purchase a commemorative race shirt through our Spirit Store. Shirts are currently available for purchase before the race and for up to two weeks afterward, so no one misses out on the chance to show their school spirit! In this way, more of your sponsorship dollars go directly into the art program, and you can order t-shirts in your team colors or the color you prefer. Parents and guardians will also be able to purchase a shirt to show their support! 
 

Every Student Gets a Keepsake!

Each participant will receive a custom race bib with a Let's Gogh! logo to wear during the run. These bibs will be marked with the number of laps completed and will be sent home as a special memento of their achievement.
 

Support Through Sponsorships

Friends and family can sponsor a student through our online payment portal.
Sponsorships are a flat rate (not per lap), and sponsors must include the student’s name and the amount they wish to contribute.
Funds raised got directly to supporting our art program!
and be sure to put in the STUDENT NAME for whom the sponsorship should be credited to. 
 
Checks and cash are also accepted! Please put your donation in an envelope and deliver to the box in the vestibule or to the front desk. Be sure to put a note of who you are sponsoring in with your donation - provide the student's name and we'll be sure it will get credited!

DAY OF THE EVENT

The Let's Gogh Fun Run will start promptly at 8:30 AM! All run times will be in the morning.
 
SCHEDULE OF RUN TIMES:
  • 5th & 6th Grade:  8:30 - 8:50
  • 3rd & 4th Grade:  9:00 - 9:15
  • 7th & 8th Grade:  9:25 - 9:50
  • Kindergarten: 10:00 - 10:15
  • 1st & 2nd Grade: 10:25 - 10:40
  • High School: 10:50 - 11:15 
 

Things to Remember

  • Water Bottles: Please send your student with a water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Dress for Success: Students should wear comfortable running clothes.
  • Show Your Spirit: If you purchased a Fun Run T-shirt, Friday is the day to wear it! Otherwise, students are encouraged to wear Westgate gear or their POD color.
 

For Parents Attending

  • Drop-off First: Please drop off your student in the car line before parking.
  • Where to Watch: The race will take place on the track in the field. See the map attached for your cheer locations.
  • Be Mindful of Runners: We ask that you stay off the track area and keep to the sidelines of the path.
  • Get Creative: Bring your own signs or make one at our sign-making station in the amphitheater area!
 

After the Run

Classes will run as normal before and after each grade’s run. Please help us set the expectation that students will return to class after their portion of the event. We are still in our student count window, and attendance is very important.
 

Still Want a Shirt or to Make a Sponsorship?

Fun Run shirts are still available for purchase through October 3rd! You can also continue to collect sponsorship donations for your student until that time. After October 3rd sponsorships will no longer be accepted, and the T-shirt design will be taken off the Spirit Store listings.

Or bring in cash or check with a note of your student's name so that it can be credited correctly. 
 

Volunteers Needed

We’re still looking for a few more volunteers to help out on the morning of the race. We will likely need some assistance with some pre-race preparation for the K-2 grades. If you’re available and have your volunteer documents and background check in, we’d greatly appreciate your support!
