Who We Are
Westgate's Events Committee is a parent-run, all volunteer group. Our committee plans and manages social events and fundraisers throughout the school year. Our goal is to enhance and enrich our social environment and foster a sense of community at Westgate.
We meet once a month at Westgate to discuss and plan upcoming events. If you are unable to attend in person, we have a virtual option available via Microsoft Teams. See the school Events Calendar for dates and times.
Social Events
Some of our events are just fun get-togethers to help bring together students, families, and our community. We host the back-to-school Boo Hoo Woo Hoo Breakfast for parents, plan Spirit Week for students, and help with Kindness Week development. We host a Trunk or Treat event in the fall, teacher appreciation in May, and additional meetupsas we can.
Fundraising
We develop and plan a variety of events per year that help to raise funds for Westgate Community School efforts. You'll see monthly restaurant spirit nights where a percentage of your purchases on those planned days will go to Westgate. We also work to develop partnerships for fun evenings with businesses and organizations for fun family nights or kid-friendly outings. Our biggest fundraising event is the end-of-the-year Carnival! The Carnival is a fun silent auction event that includes bounce mazes, fun activities, food trucks and more—we work to make it better every year.

Join Us
It takes a village, and we would like you to join us! Choose the amount of participation that works with your schedule. You do not need to be at meetings or have experience in event planning or fundraising to volunteer. You can help at events, with promotion, or provide donations when requested. You can make a difference! We encourage you to learn more about our events and get involved in any volunteer opportunities.
