High School Lottery
Westgate conducts a lottery for applicants at each grade level with available seats. Lottery results will be emailed to families. Your student will either be offered a seat or placed in the appropriate grade level wait pool. All completed applications received after the lottery deadline will be added to the grade appropriate wait pool. *Please Note: Current Westgate students with qualifying Accuplacer scores have first priority in the high school lottery.*
Kindergarten-12th Grade Wait Pool
If a student was NOT drawn in the initial lottery, he/she is placed in a grade level wait pool and will be notified by email if/when seats become available. Available seats will continue to be offered up until our October Count date of each academic year. All completed applications will continually be added to the grade appropriate wait pool. Wait pools are not carried over from previous years, a new application is required every year.
Westgate's High School Programming
Our high school program is an early college model. This means that students who qualify via Accuplacer evaluation are eligible to take tuition-free college courses from Front Range Community College AND high school classes at Westgate. Through concurrent enrollment, our students have the opportunity to graduate with a Westgate High School Diploma in one hand and an Associate Degree in the other. Below is the suggested path for students during high school:
• Freshmen (9th Graders) may take one class at FRCC each semester; earning up to 6 college credits.
• Sophomores (10th Graders) may take two courses at FRCC each semester; earning up to 12 college credits.
• Juniors (11th Graders) may take three courses at FRCC each semester; earning up to 18 college credits.
• Seniors (12th Graders) may take four classes at FRCC each semester; earning up to 24 college credits.
Student FRCC course selections must be guaranteed transferable credits, in alignment with high school graduation and an Associate Degree track.
