Events Committee Updates
Hello Westgate families! Thank you to all who joined us for our April events – Urban Air Spirit Night and Freddy’s Spirit Night.
This is a long newsletter, but it’s filled with LOTS of great info – check out what we have planned for MAY!

Wednesday, May 21st: Spirit Night at Yogurt Yum
2:30pm-9:00pm at 3969 E 120th Ave, Thornton
Treat yourself (and your kiddos) to a locally-owned build your own froyo!
Westgate will receive 25% of all sales on in-person orders.
Thursday, May 29th: Spring Carnival
Kick off the end of the school year with us at the annual Spring Carnival! This year’s carnival is shaping up to be the best one yet!
Where: On the grounds of Westgate - 12500 Washington St., Thornton, CO 80241
Date: May 29, 2025
Time: 2:00-6:00 PM
Cost:
- $25 Wristbands for access to the Play Area (until noon, May 28). $30 at the door.
- FREE entry for adult chaperones and silent auction access.
- $5 ticket bundles can be purchased. · Pay with check or cash at the school or access the payment portal.
Additional Information:
- Children MUST be supervised. This is not a drop-and-go event.
- Wristband provides unlimited access to the play area + one ticket.
- Tickets are good for water, popcorn, and cotton candy only at the Westgate table and not good for food trucks.
- Payment for silent auction items must be made NO LATER than the Tuesday (June 3) at Noon after the event.
- Items not paid for by the deadline will lose the item to the next bidder on the sheet.
Spring Carnival Classroom Baskets
Classroom baskets are a hot commodity at the silent auction and we need your help to make them a success!
We’re asking each family to contribute at least one item—at any price point—to any of the themed baskets listed below. Every contribution helps create fun and unique baskets for the auction!
Donating is Easier than Ever
Amazon and Target registries have been curated by teachers and events team so you can simply click "buy". AND your purchase can be shipped directly to the school. Of course, you’re also welcome to shop outside the registries if you find something that fits the theme.
- Donations can be dropped off at lobby during normal school hours
- All donations are due Friday, May 23
- Please label your donation with the basket name and pod number

We need your help!
We’re looking for volunteers on Wednesday, May 28th to help assemble classroom baskets and make cotton candy in preparation for the carnival.
On Thursday, May 29th, we’ll also need extra hands to:
- Set up
- Run the inflatables
- Assist with the silent auction and snack tent
- Help with cleanup afterward
This carnival is a true community event, and it wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Join us for a fun-filled evening at the ballpark with your Westgate community! Grab your peanuts and Cracker Jacks and cheer on the Rockies from our special Westgate section. It’s a great chance to connect with other families and enjoy America’s favorite pastime together!

Colorado Parent Magazine is hosting a contest to discover the community’s favorite spots across the state—and it's a perfect chance to show your love for Westgate!
