Ms. Hamilton 2026 Colorado Charter Schools Primary Teacher of the Year

Ms. Hamilton, our exceptional 1st/2nd grade teacher, has been selected as the 2026 Primary Teacher of the Year by the Colorado League of Charter Schools.

This statewide award honors educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching, innovation in the classroom, and a deep commitment to students and school communities. Ms. Hamilton was chosen for her inspiring student-centered approach, her creativity in designing meaningful learning experiences, and her dedication to nurturing both the academic and social-emotional growth of her students.

A founding member of Westgate Community School, Ms. Hamilton has played an integral role in shaping the culture, values, and instructional vision of the school since its earliest days. Her strong background and expertise in early childhood literacy have been especially impactful—helping young learners build essential reading foundations that prepare them for long-term academic success and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Statewide Recognition

The Colorado League of Charter Schools formally honored Ms. Hamilton at their annual conference, where educators from across the state gather to celebrate innovation and leadership in education.
