Social Studies: Maps and Globes 9/21/20

Hello!
This week we will continue learning how to read maps and how to create them. We will be able to identify different land forms and climates as we make more discoveries about maps and globes.

Vocabulary:

Support Your Student at Home:
You can support your student at home by investigating different climates, discussing the climate and seasons we have here in Colorado, and observing how the changing weather is impacting the things around us. As the seasons change and the nights get cooler how do the plants and animals change? Is this the same in all climates?

Support your student in designing a game. It can be a board game, card game, or something using their math counters. Use the "OUR GAME PLAN" page in their Social Studies Journal located in their blue folder. What are the rules of the game? How many players will there be? How will you know who wins? Document the rules and play the game with your child. Reflect on each attempt and fine tune the rules as needed. Share your game on Seesaw to post on our class blog.
