Algebra II

Course Description

In basic terms, Algebra 2 combines the worlds of Algebra 1 and Geometry. Expect to see systems of equations, quadratics, proportions, and imaginary numbers make a return, and expect to tackle new topics like logarithms and matrices. In more exciting terms, Algebra II is the culmination of all math you’ve learned thus far. These skills tie directly into all world sciences and systems. Want to learn about carbon-dating? Algebra II. The forces of launching a satellite? Algebra II. The math behind the algorithms keeping track of the flow of resources and funds in the world? This is the place for you.

In this class, we will learn how to: work with absolute values and inequalities; graph absolute values and inequalities; use quadratics/parabolas; work with complex polynomials; solve problems involving composite functions and orders of functions; solve problems using radicals and rational functions; use simple matrices to solve problems; simplify problems using imaginary numbers and conjugates; and how to solve problems involving complex probability.
